Getting Started
You will receive instruction in how to use the Goal Focused Student Program. Parents begin by telling their child that they will both work together for 10 minutes everyday to build Power Success Skills. Children are told that building these skills will help them to be powerful, successful, strong and happy. Children are told that when they learn and master a skill their progress will be recorded on the Power Journey Map at the Focus Success Program Website. When they reach new levels they will be able to get rewards and special priviledges.

The Program Components Explained:
1. The Daily Power Skill - The 10 Minute a Day Skill Building E-mail
You will receive a short Power Success Skill e-mail sheet each day. The sheet is then printed out. The short daily skill can be explained to Your child in just a few minutes. The Power Skill Sheet contains a short instruction of that day’s Power Skill. The sheet also challenges your child to use the skill to show that he or she is a master of that skill. There is a space on the sheet for your child to record what he or she did to master the skill.
Your child will work on building one new Power Success Skill each week. These skills are broken up into 3 to 5 sub skills that are presented and used each day. The Skill Building is cumulative and takes only 10 minutes a day of your time and your child’s time. Review days and rest days are used to help consolidate your child’s learning.
2. The Power Checklist
A Power Checklist helps your child build organization, work completion and follow through skills. The Checklist is vital in helping children become more responsible, self reliant and effective in their work.
3. Parent Support Tools
Parents receive easy to use 3 to 5 step tools and strategies for improving an ADD child’s behavior, motivation and success.
4. The Success Road Map
A Progress Road Map charts the successful mastery of key learning and success skills. Your child gains points and advances on the Success Road Map when he or she masters the Power Skills, shows improvement on the Doing Great Chart and shows positive behavior and responsibility at home.
